A Whole Fuckin’ Year

“A Whole Fuckin’ Year: Seasonal Songs for the Cynical, Depressed and Disaffected” is an album which will be released one or two songs at a time during the 2026 calendar year. As each holiday approaches, a new song or songs will be added. The title song “A Whole Fuckin’ Year” will be released around July 4th. Other songs to watch for are “Hotrod Hearse” on Halloween, and “Inflatable Santa” at Christmas.

The first two releases are “Coverup Tattoo” for Valentine’s Day and “Oh Cherie” for Mardi Gras.

Many years ago Joe Willey had a traumatic Christmas season, and for a long time when he could feel the season approaching he started feeling sad – and when that first Christmas song hit, he would find himself weeping. When he felt Valentine’s approaching he was lonely. He’s fully recovered from the Christmas sadness and he has a Valentine this year, but he is always mindful that plenty of people don’t welcome the heavily advertised holidays. He wanted to write songs to give people going through holiday sadness something to laugh at. His hope is that they might feel a little less sad, and maybe even a little bit happier.
