After I built the fiddle in 2023, I decided I needed a guitar to match it, both for visual and thematic reasons. Also, my son Thomas (the bassist in the band pictures) had started winding pickups because he was interested in doing so – and I wanted to have a guitar to put a couple of his pickups in. I found a telecaster kit guitar, and I decided to paint it with the same vintage white and amber colors so it would have the same look of bone as the fiddle. I scanned in some old Italian tarot cards, and I worked on them with a graphics program so they would be mostly transparent, with heavy lines that would scale and look good on a guitar. I printed those graphics on water slide decal material, and painted clear lacquer over them.
